UMBC Researcher is helping unlock the mystery of dark energy with NASA’s Roman Telescope

Rebekah Hounsell is co-PI and project manager of the Roman Supernova Cosmology Project Infrastructure Team (PIT), tasked with determining the best way for the telescope to collect data about cosmic phenomena called type Ia supernovae.

Drs. Alan Yeakley and Dillon Mahmoudi secure $1M+ to address flood risks in Maryland Communities

The project establishes the UMBC Laboratory for Flood Risk Impact Assessment and Adaptation in impoverished communities. This lab will serve as a hub for analyzing and tracking the impacts of rising flood risks on low-income populations in both urban and rural areas across the state.
