UMBC receives 1.5M to organize a new UMBC Quantum Science Institute (QSI).
According to Dr. Todd Pittman, QSI Director and Professor of Physics, “We have some heavy hitters here who are founders in the field, and the QSI is building on that foundation with a new generation of outstanding quantum-focused faculty.
Mark Benesch catalyzes UMBC’s partnership with drug maker AstraZeneca
UMBC Alum, Mark Benesch, has worked with UMBC to launch new collaborations with AstraZeneca such as on-campus information sessions and recruiting events. As a result, students applying to AstraZeneca internships has increased by 31% this past year.
