When all protocol activities are complete and there no plans to continue with the use of animals, a closure report can be submitted. To begin the protocol closure process, click “Close” located on the right of your screen inside the KUALI protocol. The date of the closure (the effective date) is automatically populated. In the comment section, describe the following:
- Any adverse or unanticipated events include pain, distress, morbidity, and mortality observed in the study animals throughout the life of the protocol (NOTE: these event should have previously reported).
- Describe the progress made on the study. Include any references to publications, presentations, papers in progress, etc.
- Indicate the total number of animals used in approved procedures
The ORPC will review the report and contact you with any questions.
